Log Cabin Progress
August 20, 2005
It was good to get back to work after a week away from the project while I taught a class in Anchorage for school leaders. It was sad that I missed much of the time Jed and Julie were visiting and helping. Before actually starting work we took Jed, Julie, Eveyln and Wolfgang to the airport. The same night we picked up Joe, an old college buddy from NY. We took advantage of our time in Fairbanks and took Shae-lyn and Corey to the fair.

On our way home that night we hit and killed a young moose. Fortunately for us it was just a glancing blow to the vehicle and no one was injured.

Once back working this week, Joe, Cody and I made some good progress as we started putting tounge and groove boards on the roof. By the end of the week we had the front covered, including two valleys done, even with a rain day. Cody is done now and back to school next week so hopefully Joe and I can get the rest done in the next week.

It's time to get the roof on as it was only 22 degrees this morning. Thankfully it wasn't percipitating.
