Log Cabin Progress
9.10.05
It was another week of progress, but not what we expected when we started. It was our plan to have a local contractor blow in insulation on Tuesday. Then we were going to start laying the tin roofing right behind him. He showed up on Wednesday, but quickly ran out of materials. One of his crew made a special trip to Fairbanks to get more, but the supplier was out. They promised they'd have it by Friday so they made a special trip back to town and the contractor agreed we'd hit it hard on Saturday and Sunday with his crew helping to lay the tin as the insulation went in. When I called him Saturday on my way down he said there's still no insulation. Now he has to go to Anchorage on Monday to get it. Now since I'll be gone to Nome for the week they have agreed to put the tin on starting this Tuesday.

The delay of the insulation and tin allowed me to tie up some loose ends and do some smaller projects like add the chimney, install a temporary door, add stairs, lights and do some spot sanding.
